We're taking action to protect our young people from gun violence.

Our Mission
The mission of Voices for a Safer Ocean Springs is to create a culture where children do not need to live in fear of gun violence. We use evidence-based strategies to encourage young people and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. We promote voluntary practices that will keep weapons out of the wrong hands, including safe storage at home and in vehicles. We work with lawmakers to pass legislation that will make our community safer.

We’re Ocean Springs residents who care about our neighbors. Especially our young people – our children and yours – who are running around assuming we’re doing everything in our power to keep them safe.
We’re a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, and together, we’re leading conversations and identifying common ground where progress can be made on issues of gun safety.

We came together in the summer of 2023 after years of terrible news about mass shootings and the violent deaths of so many. We were ready to turn our fear and outrage into action.
